_ SYNPOSIS

The DEMONOID TRILOGY explores the process of being swallowed by your craft, and undergoing an otherworldly assimilation and neuronal transfiguration process in order to see the world with a new set of eyes; exposing the cosmic fabric through the enigmatically triangular DEMONBOX synthesizer.

_ CAPTURE

To span the arc between assimilation and ultimately transfiguration, the below captures exemplify the storyline from first encountering the custom-crafted Demonoid character in a Kubrick-esque sci-fi setting, its extraterrestrial string of psychedelic communication with the Demon Box artifact, and its eventual mastery of its abilities, revealing the hidden language that weaves reality into existence.


_ DIRECTION

After careful exploration of various cinematic directions together with Alexandra Fierra of Eternal Research, we quickly landed on taking the storyline into a cosmic, all-encompassing futuristic and yet grounded direction. Calling on the architecture and symbolisms used by ancient civilizations, the decision to create humanoid biology that could wield such a language was made.

_ PROCESS

Sculpted in Nomad, rigged in Maya, textured in Substance Painter (and later re-textured for the final episode) and instilled with Sage Morei’s motion capture using multi-camera MoveAI, the Demonoid was finally brought to life in C4D + Octane as well as Unreal Engine 5.


_ AUDIO

Crafting the alien gutturals in the studio using the director’s voice, all sounds heard in the Demonbox episodes have been either entirely generated - using a plethora of tools from compact drills to robot arms picked up by the synthesizer’s EMF sensors - or have been effected through them.
